Sleepless in Dreamland
60
The average adult needs seven to nine hours of sleep each night. Although you may be getting enough sleep you may still wake the next morning feeling tired. There are many reasons this can happen.
Iron deficiency is common among women. It causes fatigue regardless of the amount of sleep you have been getting. To see if you have an iron deficiency simply see your doctor for a blood test. Just a prick of the finger and you have your results in minutes.
Another reason to feel tired after a long nights sleep is the quality of your bed. Many people don't realize but if your bed isn't comfortable enough your body tosses and turns throughout the night. This causes you to wake up feeling tired. To see if this is the case just simply set up a video cam or web cam and record yourself sleeping at night. If you see that you toss and turn throughout the night make your bed more comfortable.
Although sleeping seven to nine hours a night is normal some people don't require that much sleep. Some people only need five hours of sleep to feel energized the next morning. If none of the above seem to be the problem then I would suggest sleeping less every night. If you find that you feel more energized during the day keep at it.
Worst case scenario you won't find the problem. In that case I would recommend talking to your doctor about possible issues including health issues. If you have the video of yourself sleeping I would take it to the doctors appointment.
Hopefully you find a solution to your problems. In the meantime, make sure you eat balanced meals that provide iron and protein. You may want to talk to a nutritionist about a mean plan.
